Services Available to Local Entrepreneurs

Adelante Empresas provides local Spanish speaking entrepreneurs with a variety of support services to create well run and efficient small businesses. The services are based on seven pillars of support:
  • Business Development Course - A ten week comprehensive business development course teaching entrepreneurs to launch or grow a small businessThe next business development course begins Wednesday, October 5!  Call us at 503-992-0078 x 301, or email now for more information and to register!
EMPRENDEDOR: Business Development Training - these monthly seminars,
taught in Spanish, give entrepreneurs the tools they need to perfect their
business administration skills and build prosperous businesses.
Emprendedor takes place the second Thursday of each month from 6-7:30pm at
at the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce.  This event is FREE and open to the
public!
  • Business Development Coaching – These include: Start- up support to assist entrepreneurs as they register their business with state and local government agencies, create a business plan and work to launch the business; Direct work with entrepreneurs to develop a set of business development goals and a work plan to achieve the goals; Making connections between entrepreneurs and local clients.
  • Communication – Cultural and language assistance, translation, English tutoring, access to telephone, fax and computer.
  • Marketing – Access to cooperative marketing campaigns created by Adelante Empresas staff and volunteers, including marketing materials such as a website, fliers, business cards and a quarterly newsletter, in addition to community outreach projects.
  • Networking – The opportunity to participate in networking events both within the program (quarterly cooperative meetings) and throughout the western Washington County community via partnerships with Chambers of Commerce and other small business networks.
Despierta! Hillsboro, an open networking event run by the Hillsboro Chamber
of Commerce, is held the second Wednesday of each month from 8-9am.

  • Financing – Access to capital for business start-up or expansion through Individual Development Accounts (IDAs) and a revolving loan fund.
  • Sustainability - Training on managing businesses according to the three "E's" of the Triple Bottom Line - Equity, Environment, and Economy.
