About Adelante Empresas
The Adelante Empresas micro enterprise project is designed to give high quality business development support to aspiring Latino entrepreneurs who, in turn, provide high quality products and services to the greater Forest Grove and Washington County communities.  Adelante Empresas has determined that supporting micro enterprise development creates a vibrant local economy and opens up opportunities for individuals to pursue the American Dream.

Mission
The mission of Adelante Empresas is to increase the wealth and economic stability of Spanish-speaking immigrant entrepreneurs and their families by providing comprehensive small business training and cooperative marketing.

Goals 
In order to complete its mission, Adelante Empresas:
  • Provides comprehensive business support services to local Latino entrepreneurs.
  • Promotes participating small businesses and the Adelante Empresas program through a cooperative marketing model.
  • Raises awareness within greater Forest Grove and Washington County community on the benefits of working with small businesses.

Services Available to the Washington County Community
  • Access to high-quality affordable and sustainable small businesses. Adelante Empresas works with locally-owned businesses that offer an assortment of products and services including house and office cleaning, carpet cleaning, landscaping and delicious tamales and other catering treats.   • A guarantee of environmentally sustainable and socially just products and services. Adelante Empresas has created a sustainability check-list that outlines the different ways that participating businesses are sustainable practices. All businesses are required to work towards implementing this check-list or risk being removed from the program.

Services Available to Local Entrepreneurs
To guarantee the high quality services Adelante Empresas provides local Spanish speaking entrepreneurs with a variety of support services to create well run and efficient small businesses. The services are based on seven pillars of support:
  • One-to-One Business Development Services – Start- up support to assist entrepreneurs in registering their business, creating a business plan and then working to launch the business; Work directly with entrepreneurs to develop a set of business development goals and work plan on how to achieve the goal; connecting entrepreneurs with local business
  • Communication – cultural and language assistance, translation, English tutoring, access to telephone, fax and computer.
  • Cooperative Marketing – access to cooperative marketing done by Adelante Empresas staff including marketing materials such as a website, fliers, business cards and a quarterly newsletter and also includes a community outreach project currently being conducted by Adelante Empresas.
  • Networking – the opportunity to participate in networking events both within the program (quarterly cooperative meetings) and through the great western Washington County community through partnerships with Chambers of Commerce and other small business networks.
  • Individual Development Accounts – access to capital for business start-up or expansion through a 3 to 1 match savings program managed by partner CASA of Oregon.
  • Training on environmentally sustainable and socially just business practices - training on managing a business in accordance with the triple bottom line, people, planet and profits.
